Per-parcel or per-consignment cover against loss and damage, attached at booking with the declared value set by the sender.
Cover fails people when it is a separate purchase, a separate app and a separate argument. ThumaShield attaches cover at the moment a parcel is booked or a trip starts, priced per consignment, and claimed in the same place.
The cover is its own line at booking, never folded into the delivery price. You always know what it cost and what it covers.
Per-parcel or per-consignment cover against loss and damage, attached at booking with the declared value set by the sender.
You set the value at booking and that figure is what is paid, on evidence, up to the limit of the cover. Declaring more does not increase a settlement; declaring less to save on cover means being paid the smaller figure.
Other platforms can attach cover to their own bookings through the API, with the cover itemised in their checkout.
Most complaints about cover are not about what it cost — they are about what happens at claim time. The booking record already holds most of what a decision needs, so we use it.
Open the delivery or trip and claim against it. Consignment details, declared value, route and timestamps are already attached — you are not re-typing what we already know.
Straightforward claims within defined limits are assessed against booking data automatically, which is what makes a same-day answer possible.
Larger or contested claims go to a person, who reads them against the consignment record. You are told it has been referred, and why, rather than watching a status bar.
Approved claims pay into your ThumaPay wallet, so the money is usable immediately rather than waiting on a cheque or bank transfer.
Show the price of cover as its own line. Say plainly what is covered and what is excluded, before purchase. Show the declared value being covered. Give every claim decision with the reason and the clause it was decided under. Let a refusal be reviewed once, by somebody who did not make the first decision.
Fear-based selling. Jargon that obscures an exclusion. Bundling cover into a price so you cannot see it. Auto-renewing something you did not knowingly buy. Describing cover as something bigger than it is.
